Iran Signals Willingness To End Conflict With Conditions
  • Iran believes the conflict should end according to its current status. The Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared his country agrees to end its current war with the United States and Israel. The President stated that peace could only be achieved when specific conditions were fulfilled.
  • Pezeshkian used his phone conversation with Antonio Costa to describe Iran's stance. Iran needs strong guarantees which will stop future attacks according to an official statement. The termination of hostilities depends on the acceptance of these requirements according to him.

Demand for Security Guarantees

  • Pezeshkian stated that Iran needs unbreakable security guarantees which will prevent future attacks from occurring. He stated that Iran would initiate peace negotiations after receiving security guarantees from the international community.
  • Costa shared his doubts about the situation after his call with the other party. He described the situation in West Asia as highly unstable. He requested Iran to decrease its retaliatory activities which impact the Gulf nations.
  • Costa also stressed the importance of diplomacy. He called for efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resolve tensions through peaceful dialogue.

Iran’s Communication with the United States

  • Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that the USA and Iran maintain their diplomatic ties through active communication channels. He said that messages have been exchanged with Steve Witkoff.
  • Araghchi stated that these exchanges do not constitute official negotiation process. He mentioned that they have used different methods to communicate with each other through third parties.

  • Araghchi stated that Iran has not entered official discussions with the United States. Iran has not yet replied to any proposals which the United States has presented until this moment.
  • He emphasized that Iran’s goal is not a temporary ceasefire. Instead, the country seeks a complete end to the conflict under acceptable conditions.
