Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge have asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to order special Parliament sessions after the atrocities of the horror terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Both the leaders made the requests in the form of letters sent on Tuesday.
Rahul Gandhi Posts Appeal on Social Media
Rahul Gandhi has made a post on the X platform and expressed the anger of the entire nation. He posted, "The terror attack at Pahalgam has outraged every Indian deeply. We stand together against terror in this hour of crisis." Gandhi is repeating the opposition's argument that special sessions be convened in the Lok Sabha as well as the Rajya Sabha to address the issue.
Mallikarjun Kharge Does the Same Again
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also wrote a letter to the Prime Minister in favor of the appeal for special sessions. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh made this public announcement on X.
Opposition Parties Stand United Against Terrorism
In Pahalgam, all the big opposition parties have condemned the terrorist attack in the strongest terms. They pledged their complete support to the central government for any action against terrorism. The demand for a collective response through special sessions of Parliament is gaining strength.

Independent MP Kapil Sibal called on parties to collectively put pressure on the central government. He proposed voting for a collective solution in Parliament to give the world a united message that India was against terrorism.

On April 22, 26 tourists were killed in a gory terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. This incident has escalated tensions between India and Pakistan. As a response, India has decided strict action against Pakistan till cross-border terrorism is brought under effective check.
