USA: America Avoids Responding To Pakistan's Controversial Remarks

State Department Remains Silent on Pakistan's Allegations

The United States chose not to respond to remarks made by Pakistan's Defense Minister regarding Pakistan's past actions. During a recent briefing, U.S. State Department spokesperson Tommy Bruce was asked about Khawaja Asif's comments. Bruce answered carefully.

"Our Secretary of State is in constant contact with the foreign ministers of both nations. We keep a close eye on what is happening along the border. We are still engaged with both sides at various levels. We are working to achieve a peaceful solution together. The world is paying attention. I have no other information at this point," stated Bruce.

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Speaks on Past Actions

Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif gave an interview to 'Sky News' following tensions after the Pahalgam attack. During the interview, the anchor questioned him about Pakistan’s alleged long-term support for terrorist organizations.

In response, Khawaja Asif stated, "For almost thirty years, Pakistan supported the West, including the United States and Britain, by engaging in actions like funding and training terrorist groups. However, this strategy was a mistake. Pakistan suffered greatly because of these decisions. If we had not joined the war against the Soviet Union, Pakistan's history would have been different."

During the same conversation, Asif referenced Lashkar-e-Taiba. He claimed that it was an old organization and that it no longer operates in Pakistan. His statements quickly gained attention and stirred controversy.
