JD Vance Urges Pakistan To Support India In Counter-Terrorism Efforts

India-Pakistan Relations Continue to Rise Amid Pahalgam Terror Attack

As it is after the terrorist strike at Pahalgam murdered civilians, the tension between India and Pakistan increased. U.S. Vice President JD Vance has offered his two cents on the matter, appealing for restraint and cooperation in the region to deal with terrorism.

JD Vance Demands Accountable Action and Cooperation

JD Vance called the recent Pahalgam attack as highly alarming. He justified India's response but emphasized no further regional escalation. In a podcast interview, he asked Pakistan to act responsibly and protect India's counter-terrorism efforts.".

"India's response is not surprising. We don't believe this will set off a broader conflict. Pakistan should help India track down the terrorists who have some based out of Pakistani land," JD Vance said.

Vance Reiterates U.S. Support for India

Vance was in India when the attack occurred. He condemned the attack and reaffirmed the United States' support for India's war on terror. U.S. President Donald Trump and other international leaders have also condemned the attack publicly and declared their support for India.

Current Tensions Along the Line of Control

In the midst of international calls for restraint, Pakistan has continued its raking up of tensions along the Line of Control. Pakistani soldiers violated the ceasefire agreement in several sectors of Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Nowshera, and Akhnoor, Indian defense sources said. The Indian Army responded and pushed back the intrusions.

This is the eighth recent ceasefire violation by Pakistan. The recent escalation came after the April 22 attack on Baisaran Valley in which 26 civilians were killed by terrorists.
