Minister Narayana Stresses Commitment to Amaravati Development
Minister Ponguru Narayana said the government is determined to develop Amaravati as a capital city for generations to come to be proud of. Delivering a public address, he reminisced about a crucial milestone: "Ten years ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened Amaravati as the Andhra Pradesh capital. Today, we are honored to have him re-open it."
Farmers' Sacrifice for Amaravati Honored
He pointed out the initial efforts of the farming community. "In a rare display of solidarity, 29,373 farmers from 29 villages surrendered 34,000 acres of land in 58 days. They did so without any conflicts, purely on a request from then Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. This magnitude of voluntary land pooling is unprecedented in India's history," Narayana said. He showed respect to the farmers, appreciating their selfless sacrifice.
Capital Works Resume Five Years After Layoff
The Minister Narayana explained how much work has been done in the period 2014 to 2019. "We started infrastructure schemes of ₹40,000 crores and successfully completed almost ₹9,000 crores in that period of time," said the Minister. But he made a point about all the works coming to standstill in the past five years because of how the previous administration managed things.
Promise Made by New Government to Complete Amaravati within Three Years
Narayana reiterated the government's pledge. "Prior to the elections, the alliance pledged to complete constructing Amaravati. Now, with Prime Minister Modi's support and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's leadership, we have a clear roadmap. We plan to complete the entire capital project in three years. We will keep our promise," he said.
