Background to the Conflict
At midnight on Tuesday, India had carried out a military operation called "Operation Sindoor" on terror camps in Pakistan. The action was precipitated by the recent terror strike in Pahalgam. Following India's strike, over 70 terrorists were reportedly killed. However, Pakistan's military confirmed 26 deaths and 46 injuries.

Many global leaders and diplomats responded to the situation. They called for peace and urged both countries to reduce conflict. Among them, U.S. President Donald Trump also shared his views.
Trump's Statement
President Trump spoke to journalists in the Oval Office. He talked about tension between Pakistan and India:
- He called the conflict between the two countries "very terrible".
- Trump requested both countries to stop attacks.
- He talked about his cordial ties with both India and Pakistan.
- Trump vowed his support to assist in resolving their issues if they desire so.

Consequences of the Strike
Following Indian strikes, Pakistan retaliated along the Line of Control (LoC):

- 15 Indian civilians were killed in the process.
- One Indian soldier was martyred.
- 43 civilians were also wounded.
