LIC Launches Premium Payment On WhatsApp
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has recently started a new service. It consists of a premium payment facility over WhatsApp. A particular WhatsApp number was given by LIC: 8976862090.
Registered Policyholders Can EASILY Obtain Premium Details
This service can be accessed by only registered users on the LIC portal. Users can receive premium details by sending a message to the given number.
Multiple Payment Modes Options
Premium can be paid directly from WhatsApp. Options for payment in this regard are UPI, net banking, and debit/credit cards.
Receipt Too in WhatsApp
Siddhartha Mohanty, MD and CEO, LIC, informed that the system also gives a receipt at the time of payment. It contributes to an easy and full-fledged experience.
Benefits of the New Facility
Policyholders are now independent to pay from anywhere at any time. It increases flexibility and access.
Portal Use Statistics Relented
According to LIC, 2.2 crore users are registered on the portal. More than 3 lakh users use online services on a daily basis.

To use the service:
- Send a message saying ‘Hi’ to 8976862090.
- A menu will appear on the screen.
- Select the required option.
- Follow the instructions to complete the process.
