Turkey's Involvement In Recent India-Pakistan Conflict: Military Intervention And Drones

News Reports Suggest Turkish Military Intervention in Pakistan

Recent news has indicated that Turkey might have been up to something more than just selling drones to Pakistan. As India boasted to have neutralized a number of threats in Operation Sindoor, now two Turkish soldiers are reported to be among the dead. These soldiers reportedly were in Islamabad as part of Turkey's increased cooperation with Pakistan.

Drone Strikes Linked to Turkish Technology

Following Operation Sindoor, Pakistan carried out a massive drone strike on India. As many as 300 to 400 drones were said to have been used. Indian defense systems detected and shot down the drones. Forensic tests verified that the drones were made by Turkish company 'Assis Guard Sonagar'.

Strategic Relations Between Turkey and Pakistan Increasing

Pakistan and Turkey have been bolstering their strategic and military cooperation. Turkey allegedly provided training to Pakistani troops on how to best operate the drones. This assistance implies that soldiers might have been sent to offer assistance and advice.

Turkish President's Earlier Stance on India

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan publicly criticized India multiple times. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, all major global leaders strongly condemned the attack. Erdogan did not say a word of condemnation. He instead met with Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and paid condolences to Pakistan.

Limited Support for India from Some Muslim Nations

After the Pahalgam attack, Azerbaijan and Turkey were the only Muslim nations to openly support Pakistan. Erdogan has himself himself raised the Kashmir issue in international gatherings on earlier occasions, going so far as to take a polemical position against India.
