Leaders Meet for Peace Talks
Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky joined peace talks in Istanbul. The summit was to discuss ideas on how to end the war in Ukraine. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed Zelensky. They both spoke before the crowd in a joint press conference.
Russia Delegation, But Putin Missing
Although Russia had attended the talks by sending its representatives, President Vladimir Putin had not been present. Zelensky showed displeasure with Putin's no-show.
Trump Responds to Putin's No-Shows
Former US President Donald Trump, who is on a visit to West Asia, responded to Putin's no-show. He professed not to be surprised. Trump further said, "Putin will not come unless I'm there. Nothing will happen until I meet him."
