Operation Sindoor: Pakistan Admits Indian Missile Strikes On Air Bases

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Confirms Indian Attack

Pakistan's PM, Shabaz Sharif, has indeed accepted the fact that Indian weapons have been launched at several military air bases in the country. He confirmed that India launched attacks on the Noor Khan Airbase and other locations in Rawalpindi during the night of May 9 to 10. A video of his statement is circulating on social media.

Details from the Prime Minister’s Statement

Shehbaz Sharif shared these details while speaking at a public event. During his morning swim, after which daily prayers ended, he was contacted by the Army Chief, General Asim Munir, with the news. General Munir told him about the Indian missile strikes that were in progress at that time. The Prime Minister noted that Pakistan’s Air Force responded using both local defense systems and Chinese-made fighter jets. He did not mention any success in intercepting Indian missiles or drones.

Background on Operation Sindoor

It was in the response to a terror attack in Pahalgam that the India initiated Operation Sindoor. This operation was focused on the destruction of numerous military bases in Pakistan. According to the reports, the Indian missile strikes have caused damage to around 20% of the facilities of the Pakistan Air Force, which include fighter jets.

Air Bases Targeted by Indian Forces

Among the locations hit were:

  • Noor Khan Airbase in Chaklala, a key military facility.
  • Sargodha Airbase.
  • Bhola Airbase.

Satellite images suggest these facilities suffered significant damage. These attacks were part of India’s counter-response to Pakistan’s earlier actions against Indian military sites and civilian areas.
