Operation Sindoor Still Active, Says Jaishankar
Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has stated that Operation Sindoor is for sure taking place. Moreover, he said that if the style of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam happens then not only India but the world would be the answer. He also said that terrorists will be taken down at any place of Pakistan.
When he went to the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany, Jaishankar said this on a Dutch news agency interview. He told that the continuation of Operation Sindoor was a clear signal. This he referred to as indicating the strong anti-terrorism policy of India to the whole world.
He clarified that continuing the operation does not mean ongoing military fighting. The ceasefire between India and Pakistan is still in place. No direct military actions are currently taking place.
Jaishankar mentioned that India has only targeted terrorist camps listed by the United Nations. These actions were carried out under Operation Sindoor.
Ceasefire Agreement Came Through Direct Talks with Pakistan
Jaishankar addressed the recent ceasefire agreement with Pakistan. He said that the agreement was achieved through direct discussions between the two countries.
He made these remarks in response to repeated statements by U.S. President Trump, who claimed credit for the ceasefire. Jaishankar explained that countries often talk to both sides during international tensions to help calm the situation.
However, he stressed that the ceasefire was a result of direct talks with Pakistan. “If we want peace, we must speak with Pakistan,” he said. He added that on May 10, a senior military official from Pakistan spoke with Indian officials and reached a mutual agreement.
During a questioning about the contribution of the United States, Jaishankar unequivocally answered that “America is in America.”
