Operation Sindoor: India's Answer to Terror Attack
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the terrorists who attacked in Pahalgam had put the mettle of Indian women to test and were dealt with destruction. He talked about 'Operation Sindoor', in which many women officers played a significant role. The officers traced and targeted the terrorists post-attack.
Modi spoke about this on the occasion of 'Mahila Swashaktikaran Maha Sammelan' in Bhopal, on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar. He highlighted how the world witnessed India's robust reaction and women's contribution to national security.
Women Leadership in Border Defense
Following Operation Sindoor, when Pakistan attacked along the border states of India, a women's BSF unit, led by Assistant Commandant Neha Bhandari, defended the frontiers at Akhnoor. They engaged for three days on forward posts.
Modi described that 'Sindoor', a symbolic gesture, symbolizes women's strength. He added that terrorists in Pahalgam did not merely shed blood—attacked Indian culture and social harmony. In his view, their weakness was their undoing.
India’s Response to Terror: A Strategic Operation
The Prime Minister highlighted that Indian forces carried out strikes on terror camps, even in areas where Pakistan’s army did not anticipate any attacks. He said this action was one of India’s most significant victories against terrorism.
Development Projects and Rani Ahilyabai’s Legacy
Modi virtually opened various development works, such as Indore Metro corridors and improvements at Datia and Satna airports. He laid the foundation stone of the Atal Gram Seva Sadan (Panchayat Bhavan) with an investment of ₹483 crore.
He paid tribute to Rani Ahilyabai Holkar of Malwa, recognizing her just rule and emphasis on social welfare. The Prime Minister also released a postal stamp and a ₹300 commemorative coin to honor her services.
