BigBasket To Launch 10-Minute Food Delivery Nationwide

Rapid Service Rollout by 2025-26

Tata Group's BigBasket is planning to initiate 10-minute food delivery services in India. The firm hopes to implement this service by the close of the financial year 2025-26.

Competing with Fast Delivery Platforms

By doing this, BigBasket will take on Swiggy Snack, Blinkit Bistro, and Zepto Cafe. These have already been delivering coffee and ready-to-eat foods in approximately 15 minutes.

Targeting New and Existing Customers

BigBasket co-founder Vipul Parekh said the service will aim at new consumers as well as current users of platforms such as Zomato and Swiggy. The company plans to utilize city-based dark stores, or small warehouses, to facilitate the quick deliveries.

Pilot Rollout and Future Strategy

BigBasket initiated its food delivery business online in 2011. Recently, the company initiated a pilot food delivery business in Bengaluru. Until now, delivery is only from Starbucks and Tata Group's Indian Hotels company Cumin.

Preparation for Public Listing

Parekh further added that BigBasket is getting ready for a public listing. The IPO will come in the next 18 to 24 months.
