Bomb Threat At Satish Dhawan Space Center In Sriharikota

Security Alert After Midnight Phone Call

A bomb threat was issued at the Satish Dhawan Space Center (SHAR) at Sriharikota in the Tirupati district.

The Tamil Nadu Command Control Center received a call at midnight on Sunday. The caller told them that there were terrorists at the space center.

Security Forces Acted Promptly

Security personnel on Sriharikota reacted promptly. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the local police units were put on alert.

From Monday morning, the officers initiated widespread searches around the center. The Coastal Defense Forces also scoured the nearby sea routes.

Threat Considered False Following Searches

The searches were organized by Naidupeta Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Chenchu Babu.

Following the inspection, authorities verified that the call was a hoax. They concluded the threat originated from unidentified miscreants.
