Bollywood star Aamir Khan recently reacted to criticism for his silence over 'Operation Sindoor'. During an interview, he discussed his experiences with Indian troops, underlining his admiration for them.
Spent Eight Days with Soldiers After Kargil Victory
Aamir informed that he went to see the soldiers immediately after the Kargil war. He reported that he traveled for eight days from Leh to Srinagar. While he met with several regiments, he had interactions with no one but soldiers.
"Perhaps not everybody is aware of this. I visited there after the Kargil war was over. I spent eight days with the troops. I am the sole actor who did that. I drove from Leh to Srinagar by road. I interacted with each regiment on the way," Aamir explained.
He Shared Meals and Experiences with the Troops
Aamir said he lived among the soldiers. He ate with them and saw what they did on a daily basis. He slept one night in a bunker along the border, and eight soldiers.
"I went there to appreciate their bravery. They fought to protect us. I told them we owe them. But after spending time with them, I realized they don’t need encouragement. They are prepared for any hardship. They are strong and dedicated. Meeting them gave me strength," he added.
