PM Modi Receives Cyprus' Highest Civilian Honor During Official Visit

Prime Minister Awarded 'Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III'

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, is on an official visit to Cyprus. While staying here, Modi was awarded the highest civilian honor of Cyprus, the 'Grand Cross of the Order of Makarios III'. Modi was awarded this honor for his effort towards increasing the relationship between India and Cyprus.

During the time of receiving the honor, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude to the Cyprus government as well as to its people. The award, according to him, is not just an individual honor but also a reflection of the 1.4 billion people of India. He further stated that the award is a symbol of the values of culture and oneness shared by both nations.

Award Symbolizes Bilateral Friendship and Shared Commitment

Modi added that the award reflects the friendship between the two nations. He stressed that both nations are devoted to peace, sovereignty, regional stability, and reciprocal prosperity. He wished that the partnership would become even stronger in the future.

According to him, closer cooperation would not only make the two nations advance but would also facilitate a peaceful world environment.

Warm Welcome for Indian Prime Minister After Two-Decade Gap

Modi landed in Cyprus on Sunday night. The trip is a part of his three-country tour. Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides welcomed him at Larnaca International Airport. It is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Cyprus in 20 years.

Modi stated that the trip will enhance India-Cyprus relations, particularly in trade and investment. Following the visit to Cyprus, the Prime Minister will proceed to Canada for the G7 summit. He will then move on to Croatia.
