International Yoga Day Celebrated at Visakhapatnam

International Yoga Day was celebrated in Visakhapatnam. The prime minister of the country, Narendra Modi, was the guest of honor. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu greeted him with a souvenir. Following the presentation, Prime Minister Modi spoke to the crowd.

Yoga Fosters Global Unity

Modi extended his good wishes, wishing, "Happy International Yoga Day to all." He emphasized that yoga has brought nations together across the globe. In his view, 175 nations gave their nod to the proposal to observe Yoga Day. He stressed that yoga is being practiced in so many nations is its vast acceptance.

He has said that yoga is a common practice that flourishes human values. It has benefited millions in the last decade in a positive way. Youth, even in villages, are adopting yoga. Modi further mentioned that yoga is for all, irrespective of age and place.

Yoga fosters peace and togetherness

Modi talked about Visakhapatnam as a beacon of natural beauty and progress. He said that yoga unites people with nature and shows one's own self-discipline. Yoga changes the individual's mindset from "I" to "we," which leads to collective humanity. With increasing unrest across the world, Modi feels yoga can provide a way toward peace and stability.

Admiration for State Leadership

Modi appreciated the initiative by Minister Lokesh to organize the YogaAndhra campaign in six weeks. Modi lauded the new initiatives introduced as part of this campaign as innovative and successful.

Modi Comments on the Experience

Modi finished his speech by stating, "Yoga is not physical exercise; it is a way of life." Modi was delighted to be a part of Yoga Day celebrations at Visakhapatnam.
