Incident Summary
A minor girl from Kudithipalem in the Sripotti Sriramulu Nellore district was subjected to atrocious physical abuse. Villagers used to warm her mouth and tongue, suspecting that she had stolen a phone. Even when she denied the offense, she was attacked. The police arrested five people and filed charges against them of attempted murder.
Reaction and Support from MLA
TDP MLA Vemireddy Prashanti Reddy was also seriously concerned about the attack. She instructed party leaders to shift the victim from Indukurpet Government Hospital to Apollo Hospital at Nellore for proper medical attention.
Transfer and Future Support
Upon her recommendation, party workers Kodur Kamalakar Reddy, Duvvur Kalyan Reddy, Pawan Reddy, and Sheikh Imtiaz organized the shift to Apollo Hospital. MLA Prasanthi Reddy said the Vemireddy Trust will take care of the girl's education and well-being once she is fit. She affirmed she would be fully responsible for her future care.
