Fighting Still Goes On Despite Ceasefire Declaration
Hostilities in the Middle East have escalated again. United States President Donald Trump stated that a ceasefire had been agreed upon between Iran and Israel. But the fighting did not cease. Iran fired missiles at Israel early Tuesday morning. Sirens blared in most cities.
Missile Strikes Target Southern and Central Israel
The Israeli army alerted the public to the missile attack. The IDF reported that the missiles were aimed at southern and central areas, such as Jerusalem and Beersheba. A Beersheba building was severely damaged. Three individuals were killed and others wounded. Some were critically injured. Six missiles were fired by Iran, reported the IDF.
Iran Reacts to Ceasefire News
Iran fired the missiles at 4 a.m. local Tehran time. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi maintained Iran hadn't agreed on any deal. Iran would also end attacks, he said, if Israel stopped operations by 4 a.m. Tuesday. Iran fired missiles just hours after that.
Retaliation Reported from Both Sides
Reports indicate that Israel is retaliating with attacks of its own. Sirens have also been heard in Tehran. This is a sign of potential Israeli action as payback.
Trump's Announcement on Truth Social
Trump posted on the Truth Social platform that both nations agreed to a ceasefire. He stated that the war would officially end in 12 hours. Iran first denied the claim. Later, Iran expressed interest in an agreement. Israel has not made any official comment yet.
