Shubhanshu Shukla Set For Launch On Axiom-4 Mission

Indian space traveler Shubhanshu Shukla is prepared to start his journey in space. Three other astronauts will join him on the International Space Station (ISS) aboard the Axiom-4 (AX-4) mission. SpaceX confirmed that everything is in working condition for the launch.

Launch is planned for 12:01 PM IST on Wednesday from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Weather conditions for launch are 90% favorable, reported SpaceX. The systems for the mission have also been inspected and found to be prepared.

Shukla Expresses Excitement Before Departure

In a social media video, Shubhanshu expressed himself. He informed that he is immensely excited about this mission. He described it as a special experience in his life and said that he was blessed to be included in it.

Shubhanshu also added that this mission is a step in the direction of motivating youth in India. He wishes to inspire students and youngsters through this milestone. He appreciated the mission team and said they might become his close buddies during and after the mission.

Mission Details and Timeline

Axiom Space, a US commercial space firm, is handling the Axiom-4 mission. ISRO, NASA, and the European Space Agency (ESA) are also working on the mission.

The space capsule will be taken to space by the Falcon-9 rocket. Shubhanshu Shukla will be piloting the mission. The launch was scheduled for May 29 but was postponed because of unfavorable weather and technical complications.

Activities On Board the Space Mission

The spaceship will dock with the ISS approximately 28 hours after lift-off. Shubhanshu and his crew will remain on board the ISS for 14 days. During this time, they will perform scientific experiments in zero gravity.

They will also engage remotely with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, school students, and other people from space.
