
Iran Renews Commitment to Peaceful Use of Nuclear Power
West Asia tensions have subsided after a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. Iranian President Massoud Pezishkian made a formal announcement in this regard. He explained that Iran has no intention to make nuclear weapons. He reasserted Iran's freedom to utilize nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
Phone Call With UAE Leader Highlights Iran's Position
Following the ceasefire declaration, President Pezishkian also talked to UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed. In the call, he reaffirmed Iran's stance. He explained that Iran values its legal rights based on international treaties. He added that the state never sought nuclear weapons. Iran does not seek more conflict. Nevertheless, it will not compromise its nuclear rights. He stated Iran prefers solving problems by talking.
Recent Conflict Led to Regional Instability
A 12-day Iran-Israel conflict brought extensive unrest to the region. The episode generated extensive anxiety throughout West Asia. On Tuesday, United States President Donald Trump said a ceasefire had been agreed. Later, Iranian state media confirmed the deal. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also confirmed the ceasefire.
