Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Says Iran Has Won, Criticizes U.S. Involvement

Khamenei Speaks Out For First Time Since Iran-Israel Ceasefire

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, broke his silence on Tuesday since the Iran-Israel ceasefire agreement. According to Khamenei, Iran had won the 12-day war with Israel. Khamenei also declared that Iran's strikes on American bases were an obvious and strong message to America.

Comments Made on State TV

Khamenei made this his first public remark since June 19. Iranian state television aired a clip in which he commented on the situation. Khamenei stated that the United States intervened in the war because it was afraid that Israel would lose the war without American intervention.

Khamenei: "America Gained Nothing"

Khamenei made it clear that the U.S. did not gain any strategic ground. He stated, "The Islamic Republic has won. It has slapped America." He also made a reference to the recent attack on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, which is among the key U.S. bases in the region. The attack was damaging but did not result in injuries.

Warning of Future Actions

Khamenei added that Iran can target important American sites in the region. He threatened Iran will conduct more attacks if necessary. He further said that any future aggression towards Iran will have dire consequences.
