Iranian Hackers Threaten To Leak Emails Of Trump Associates

Hacker Issues Threat Under the Pseudonym 'Robert'

A group of Iranian hackers, who referred to themselves as "Robert," have threatened to leak emails associated with people close to the former U.S. President Donald Trump. They made the statement while talking to a media house.

High-Profile Individuals Targeted

The hackers indicated that they had access to the emails of White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, attorney for Trump Lindsey Halligan, and advisor Roger Stone. Others were mentioned as also being involved. The group stated that they have approximately 100 gigabytes of data.

Details of the Leak Not Disclosed

Although the hackers threatened to sell or publish the data, they did not provide any details. The content of the emails has not been made public. The plans on how or when the leak would be made are unknown.

U.S. Government Reacts to the Threat

The White House and FBI spokesperson Kash Patel replied that legal action would be taken against any threats to national security. The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has not issued a comment. Iran's representative to the United Nations has also failed to comment.

Background on the 'Robert' Operation

The "Robert" hacking group came to prominence in the last phase of the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Trump's inner circle allegedly had some of their emails revealed at that time. The U.S. authorities have attributed the group to Iran's Revolutionary Guard.

Rekindled Activity Following U.S.-Iran Rivalry

After Trump’s re-election, the group had announced they would stop leaking information. However, following a 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel—where the U.S. reportedly attacked three nuclear sites in Tehran—the group appears to have resumed operations. Recently, they told a news outlet that the emails are now for sale.
