Iran States Conditions For Resuming Nuclear Deal Talks With The US

Iran Demands Reliable Guarantees Before Re-Engaging in Talks

Iran has said it will return to the nuclear deal talks only if the United States gives credible guarantees. Iranian Ambassador to India, Iraj Elahi, said that without solid US and Israeli commitments to refrain from aggressive actions against Iran, future negotiations would be meaningless.

Aggression by the US and Israel a Central Concern

The US and Israel should not attempt any future aggression towards Iran, according to Ambassador Elahi. He was referring specifically to the "Operation Rising Lion" by Israel on Iranian nuclear sites. He noted that Israel possesses nuclear weapons and is not a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Blame for Attacks on Iranian Assets

He stated the reason behind striking Iran—saying it must not have nuclear weapons—is unjust. He further stated that a number of scientists, soldiers, professors, and civilians have lost their lives as a result of these strikes.

Violation of International Laws and Continuing Tensions

Elahi asserted that these attacks violated United Nations policy. He called recent US strikes against three Iranian nuclear facilities as a bellicose move. He added that Israel collaborated with the US in these incidents while negotiations were ongoing.

Allegations of Diplomatic Misconduct

He criticized the US response to the attacks and called it a diplomatic betrayal. He stressed that Iran has never attacked any country in its history. He also mentioned Iran’s peaceful approach, even in the context of the Gaza conflict.

Iran Open to Diplomacy

Despite the current tensions, Elahi reiterated Iran’s willingness to pursue diplomatic solutions.
