Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Trinidad and Tobago, a Caribbean nation. When Modi arrived, he received a grand welcome. Trinidad Prime Minister Kamla Prasad Bisessar greeted him at the airport.

During a program held on Friday, a special moment occurred. Prime Minister Kamla recited a poem written by Modi. The poem, titled "Aankh Aa Dhanya Che" in Gujarati, means "These Eyes Are Very Lucky" in English. The poem reflects Modi’s personal journey, including his memories and struggles. Her reading of the poem surprised many in attendance.

Around 40 percent of the population of Trinidad is of Indian origin. Their cuisine, music, and languages are still influenced by Indian culture and customs.
Modi Praises Kamla and India-Trinidad Ties
Earlier, Modi spoke to the Indian community in the nation. He lauded Prime Minister Kamla, referring to her as the "darling of Bihar." He added that her forbears originated from Buxar, Bihar, and stated individuals from Bihar consider her their daughter. Modi emphasized the heritage richness of the state and said Bihar has made a lot of progress across numerous fields over time.
He underlines the close bonding among India and Trinidad. He further states that there are several streets in Trinidad named after Indian cities like Banaras, Patna, Kolkata, and Delhi.
