Musk to Unveil 'America Party'
Tesla CEO and the richest person in the world, Elon Musk, has unveiled a new political party in the US. He made the declaration on the X platform. Musk declared he will unveil the 'America Party' if former President Donald Trump's Big Beautiful Bill becomes law.
Musk said that at present, there is no true democracy in the US. He further mentioned that his party wants to bring back people's freedom. He also said that the two-party system in the US does not cater to everyone. With his new party, Musk will challenge this system. But he did not mention where and when the party will be registered.
Can Musk Have Political Influence?
Elon Musk may not run for president. He is born outside the US, and so he doesn't qualify under the US Constitution. The Constitution only permits natural-born US citizens to become president.
However, Musk may run for other offices, like the governor. Previously, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, foreign-born, was elected Governor of California.
Reports suggest Musk’s party will focus on a few key seats. It plans to target 2 or 3 seats in the US Senate and 8 to 10 seats in the House of Representatives. Musk believes winning these seats could make his party influential in Congress, especially in helping pass laws.
