UAE Golden Visa For Rs. 23 Lakhs: Official Clarification

False Claims About Golden Visa Pricing

A UAE government authority has asserted that there is no truth in reports of obtaining a Golden Visa for Rs. 23 lakhs. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) dismissed the prevailing media campaign as misleading.

Only Official Channels Permitted

The ICP reasserted that Golden Visa applications need to be done through official government channels. No private consultancy, including those which have been discussed in the media, is considered an authorized agent.

Warning Against Misinformation

Emirates News Agency released the ICP warning. It stated legal actions would be taken against anyone who circulates false information to obtain money unlawfully. Individuals have been urged to use official channels for visa information only:

  • Website: www.icp.gov.ae
  • Phone: 600522222

Misleading Reports Involving India and Bangladesh

Earlier, some news reports stated that Indian and Bangladeshi citizens may be able to secure a lifetime Golden Visa for approximately Rs. 23 lakh (100,000 dirhams). News agency PTI has also covered similar reports.

Actual Golden Visa Requirements

In actuality, Indians can apply for a Golden Visa through:

  • Investing AED 2 million (Rs. 4.66 crore) in real estate.
  • Launching or investing significantly in a business in the UAE.

A supposedly nomination system was also cited in the reports, where India and Bangladesh were suggested to be selected for a pilot run, and the Rayad Group consultancy would do the nominations in India. But the ICP has clarified that the ICP does not have a nomination system.

Final Advice

The ICP has urged people to ignore unofficial claims and avoid dealing with unverified consultants. All Golden Visa-related information should be confirmed directly with UAE’s official government portals.
