Adani Group Enters Healthcare With AI-Powered Hospitals

New Hospitals to Be Set Up in Mumbai and Ahmedabad

Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani has made a big foray into the healthcare industry. The group will construct 1,000-bed hospitals in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The hospitals will be named 'Adani Healthcare Temples'. The hospitals, according to Adani, will deliver services through artificial intelligence (AI), follow international standards of quality, and still be affordable for patients.

Long-Term Commitment towards Health and Education

Three years ago, on his 60th birthday, Adani had committed ₹60,000 crore towards healthcare, education, and skill development. The ongoing hospital projects are part of that commitment. These hospitals will be well-equipped with modern medical infrastructure.

Need for Transformation in Healthcare

Gautam Adani said India's healthcare industry requires faster development. He claimed that the system in place is inadequate to meet future needs. The Adani Group hopes to assist in speeding up development and inducing a structural change. In his opinion, the entire healthcare system needs to be overhauled.

Training Healthcare Professionals in Technology

Adani informed that the new hospital campuses in Ahmedabad and Mumbai would also serve as clinical care, research, and training centers. These centers would educate doctors in high-end skills like robotics, AI, systems thinking, and healthcare management.

Gaps in Current System

India boasts just 20.6 doctors and nurses for every 10,000 individuals, which is less than half of the recommended 44.5 by the WHO. Moreover, 74% of doctors are concentrated in urban locations, leaving the rural sectors under-served. Adani stressed a total revamp of the healthcare model to combat these issues and facilitate India's healthcare objectives.
