Launch and Pricing
Aprilia has introduced the SR 175, a new premium scooter in India. Its ex-showroom price starts at Rs. 1.26 lakh. This model replaces the older SR 160 variant in the lineup.
Engine and Performance
The SR 175 is powered by a 174.7 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It features a three-valve setup and produces 12.92 hp at 7200 rpm. In comparison, the previous SR 160 delivered 11.27 hp. Torque has also increased from 13.44 Nm to 14.14 Nm, offering improved performance.
Display and Connectivity
The scooter includes a TFT color display with Bluetooth support. Riders can connect their smartphones to receive call notifications, alerts, and control music.
Suspension and Braking
The frame, suspension, brakes, and tires remain unchanged from the SR 160. The scooter features 14-inch tires on both ends, with 120 mm width. Braking is managed by a front disc brake with single-channel ABS, and a rear drum brake.
Design and Color Options
The SR 175 keeps a similar look to the SR 160 but comes in two color combinations: red-white and purple-red. The paint scheme is inspired by Aprilia’s RS 457 sport bike, giving it a sporty appearance.
Market Competition
With its enhanced engine and design, the SR 175 will compete with models like the Hero Zoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155 in the premium scooter market.
