Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Indian-American executive, has officially become a billionaire. Bloomberg Billionaires Index confirms his net worth now exceeds $1.1 billion. He has served as Alphabet’s CEO for nearly 10 years.

Alphabet’s stock has gained strong momentum since 2023. In just two years, the company's market value grew by $1 trillion. It now exceeds $2 trillion. On Thursday, Alphabet’s shares increased by 4.1%. This growth raised Pichai’s net worth. Forbes Billionaires Index lists his wealth at $1.2 billion.
Non-Founder Billionaires Are Rare
It's rare for tech non-founders to become billionaires, reports Bloomberg. CEOs such as Meta's Mark Zuckerberg and Nvidia's Jensen Huang possess founder shares, which increase their fortunes more quickly. Pichai didn't start Alphabet but still became a member of the billionaire club.

Pichai’s Journey from Tamil Nadu to Silicon Valley
Sundar Pichai was born in Tamil Nadu in the middle class. He was awarded a scholarship in 1993 to study at Stanford University. Sundar started working at Google in 2004 as a normal employee. Sundar had a huge part in releasing products such as Google Chrome, Android, and Google Drive.
