Google Requested to Invest Chip Design Center in Andhra Pradesh
Nara Lokesh, Education, IT, and Electronics Minister, asked Google Cloud Director Drew Brens to look into a chip design center in Visakhapatnam. The site is located within the future Google data center campus.
In return, Brens explained that Google would discuss this proposal with its senior management. He further stated that this would be considered together with other signed deals with Andhra Pradesh.
Google Demands Prompt Start to Building Data Center
Google Cloud has implored the state government to start building the data center immediately. The company informed that the needed infrastructure for the data city in Visakhapatnam already exists.
AP Proposed as Manufacturing and Maintenance Center
Google has also proposed to utilize Andhra Pradesh as part of its server supply chain. It is a move to divert some of the manufacturing activities from China and Taiwan. Google feels that Andhra Pradesh can become a world hub for the repair and maintenance of servers.
Google mentioned the state's robust air and port connectivity as major plus points for carrying out such activities.
AP Government in Singapore to Enhance Investments
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and ministers are on a visit to Singapore at present. They are on the third day of their tour. The aim is to bring more investments into Andhra Pradesh.
