Chirag Paswan Supports Nitish Kumar As CM Again

Bihar Assembly Elections Coming Up

Bihar will be going to the polls in a couple of months' time. Chirag Paswan, Union Minister and chief of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), has asserted that Nitish Kumar would be elected Chief Minister once again following the elections. This announcement is made even though he had criticized the Nitish government earlier.

Paswan Affirms Support to PM Modi

Addressing a function on Monday, Paswan asserted that he would continue to support the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He asserted that the elections in Bihar will be conducted under the leadership of Modi. Paswan also stated that Nitish Kumar will be sworn in once again as Chief Minister after the results.

On the SIR Process and Voter List Issues

Paswan referred to the Summary Intensive Revision (SIR) process undertaken by the Election Commission. He mentioned that this has been done four times already and is now being done more efficiently using digital technology. He brushed aside the concerns of the opposition, saying that only ineligible names are being dropped from the voter list. As per him, the opposition keeps raising objections after every election and the actual problem lies with the voter list, not the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

SIR to Roll out Across the Country

Following Bihar, SIR implementation will take place in other states, such as West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. Paswan asserted that the opposition desires to collapse the NDA coalition since it cannot win individually. He stated that the opposition is attempting to undermine the NDA rather than competing honestly.

On National Security and Operation Sindoor

Paswan also talked about Operation Sindoor conducted by the Indian Army. Paswan blamed the opposition for raising doubts about the operation, stating that it is inappropriate to question the government and military. He further said that it is regrettable to have more faith in foreign views than in local leadership.

Paswan Condemns Crime in Bihar

Paswan reacted to a recent case in Bihar, where a student was raped in an ambulance after she fainted. He lamented the increased cases of robbery, murder, and rape in the state. Paswan deplored the state government for not maintaining public order and was disappointed that his party had voted in support of a government that could not guarantee safety to the people.
