Statewide Smart Ration Card Distribution
Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar made an official announcement that smart ration cards will be distributed throughout the state from August 25 to 31. The smart cards contain QR codes in order to prevent irregularities and misuse.
More than 9 Lakh New Beneficiaries
Minister Manohar said that the government will issue ration cards to more than 9 lakh new citizens. The goal is to provide access to vital supplies equally and economically.
Timings for Ration Supply
Ration supply will be carried out during two slots from 1st to the 15th of each month:
- Morning: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Evening: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
This timing will be for all the 29,796 ration shops in Andhra Pradesh.
eKYC Exemptions
The Minister explained that eKYC is not required for:
- Children below 5 years of age
- Older citizens above 80 years of age
This exemption makes the process simpler for these particular age groups.
