Union Minister Responds to Rahul Gandhi’s Statements

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju responded to recent remarks made by Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi. Gandhi had alleged that the Election Commission was manipulating votes in favor of the BJP and claimed his party had evidence comparable to a nuclear bomb.

Rijiju Criticizes Language and Tone

Rijiju said Rahul Gandhi’s language was harmful and could damage India’s image. He also stated that even some opposition members disagreed with how Gandhi described India’s economy as a “dead economy.” Rijiju added, “He is not a child. As the opposition leader, he should speak responsibly.”

Concerns About Threats to Officials

Rijiju also criticized any intimidation of government members. He stated that such incidents and statements are against the nation's interest. He held Gandhi responsible for playing a risky game that might damage national stability.

Parliament Disruption Matters

He also criticized opposition MPs for causing continuous disruptions in Parliament. Rijiju stated that such obstruction hinders crucial discussions. He stated, "When MPs fail to raise public issues, it is the people who suffer."

Parliamentary Rules Need To Be Adhered To

Rijiju referred to the fact that both Lok Sabha Speaker and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman have already made it clear that all the talks shall be conducted within the parliamentary norms.
