Narayana Health in Bengaluru has introduced an artificial intelligence (AI) technology that identifies heart ailments within a span of ten seconds. This update was made available by the hospital founder Dr. Devi Shetty during a press meet on Tuesday.

The AI was created by Medha AI and Narayana Health's clinical research team. Dr. Shetty explained the tool functions by reading a basic ECG (Electrocardiogram) to provide precise heart health reports in a matter of seconds.
Aids to Identify Heart Problems Earlier and More Effectively
He called the tool a major breakthrough in the diagnosis and management of heart diseases. The AI is designed to cut down on testing time and enhance diagnostic accuracy.
Targeted for Use in Both Urban and Rural Settings
Dr. Shetty stated that the AI tool would find application both in cities and villages, enhancing access to heart care throughout the nation. It was created after analyzing more than one lakh records of ECG data, making it reliable.
Aims to Find Solution to Increased Heart Problem Cases
Dr. Shetty pointed out that one crore new heart cases occur annually in India, with about 18 lakh requiring hospitalization. He believes this tool will help manage the growing heart disease burden more efficiently.
