The State Education Policy 2025 of Tamil Nadu has been released as a substitute for the National Education Policy (NEP). Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced the release on Friday in Chennai.
In 2022, the state was against the three-language policy in NEP. Thereafter, M.K. Stalin stated that Tamil Nadu would formulate its own policy. A committee of 14 members, headed by retired judge Justice Murugesan, was constituted. The committee met university vice-chancellors, educationists, teachers, private school managers, and parents. It finalized the draft policy and submitted it to the state government on July 1, 2024.
During the function, the Chief Minister launched "Tamil Nadu Manila Kalvi Kolgai-2025 – Palli Kalvi" (Tamil Nadu State Education Policy 2025 – School Education).
