Operation Sindoor: IAF Chief Vindicates Destruction Of 5 Pakistani Fighter Jets

India conducted Operation Sindoor as a reaction to the attack in Pahalgam. The operation entailed precision attacks on Pakistani bases. As per Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, five Pakistani fighter aircraft were shot down by the Indian Air Force during the operation. It is India's first official confirmation regarding the extent of damage caused to the air force capabilities of Pakistan.

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh addressed the operation at a function in Bengaluru. He clarified that Operation Sindoor was carried out with a well-laid plan and sophisticated technology. The goals were met within 80–90 hours. He said Pakistan realized the price of pursuing the war further and offered to talk after delivering a negotiation message.

In the course of the operation, Indian troops destroyed a big aircraft along with the five fighter aircraft. Shahbaz Jacobabad airbase, which has an F-16 hangar, was among the main targets. The strike damaged more than half of the hangar. Singh added that some planes at the airbase were also severely damaged. He mentioned that India's air defense system and S-400 missile system worked well during the operation.
