High Demand for Longer Battery Life
Battery life is high on the agenda for most smartphone consumers. The majority of phones require charging in the evening after use throughout the whole day. In response to this, manufacturers are aiming for increased battery capacities and silicon-carbon battery tech. Handsets with 7,000 mAh batteries have just started appearing.
Honor's New Development
Chinese phone company Honor is working on a model with a 10,000 mAh battery. Even though the capacity is high, the thickness of the phone should remain below 8.5 mm. The development, design, and testing phases are already in the works.
Potential Launch Schedule
The phone might be released early in 2026. The company has not yet confirmed its name but has a chance to release it as Honor Power 2, continuing from the Honor Power series that debuted in April 2025.
Speculated Features
Reports say the phone will come equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chip. Other specifications are yet to be confirmed.
Other Brands' Competition
Redmi, another Chinese brand, is also in the process of making large-battery smartphones. It is making models with 8,500 mAh to 9,000 mAh batteries.
