
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day Address
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Independence Day is the result of many sacrifices. He called it a festival that speaks of the spirit of determination of 140 crore citizens. He said that for three months, every home hoists the national flag. After hoisting the national flag for the 12th time in a row from the Red Fort, he addressed the people. He said that this time evokes a deep sense of oneness in the country.
Operation Sindoor and Counter-Terrorism Strategies
PM Modi asserted terrorism is endangering the survival of humankind. He referred to an attack in Pahalgam that was done in the name of religion. He claimed the attack infuriated the whole country. As a reply, the government initiated Operation Sindoor, giving an unexpected shock to the adversary. He stressed that the defense forces have complete autonomy to decide the time and mode of eliminating threats.
India's Position on Indus Waters Treaty
PM Modi reassured that India does not fear nuclear threats. He declared, "Water and blood do not flow together." He emphasized that there shall be no talks or negotiations for the Indus Waters Treaty. He reaffirmed the strategy to divert the waters to regions in India that are short of water. As far as he is concerned, India and Indian farmers have absolute rights over these waters. He declared that the treaty will never be renewed.
