
Independence Day Speech
In the 79th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag at Red Fort. He asked citizens to concentrate on quality production and international competitiveness in the face of US tariff threats.
Modi stated that the country should focus on low-cost, quality products to gain strength in the international market. He emphasized that the cost of production should be minimized and product standards improved. He also recommended not criticizing others unnecessarily and instead focusing on enhancing personal and national capabilities.
Support for Local Products
Modi asked shopkeepers and traders to market and sell local products. He said the world was watching India's development closely and asked for suggestions on altering government policies. He reiterated that no policies against farmers will be tolerated. Modi appreciated farmers for contributing immensely to the economy and assured them they would be supported further.
Energy Self-Sufficiency Goals
The Prime Minister addressed going ahead with becoming energy self-sufficient. He emphasized the need for solar energy and green hydrogen production. He added that the government is inviting private investment in nuclear power.
Modi indicated that a lot of money is being spent in importing petrol and diesel. The government plans to cut down petroleum imports by making alternative fuels. He stated that it would make self-sufficiency stronger, particularly in the essential minerals that power the world economy.
Record-Breaking Speech Duration
On this Independence Day, Modi created a record of giving the longest speech by an Indian Prime Minister on the occasion. His speech continued for 103 minutes, breaking his own record of 98 minutes last year.
