Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag said that Suryakumar Yadav is making better use of Shivam Dube than previous captains. He praised Dube’s bowling in the Asia Cup Super 4 match against Pakistan.
Dube’s Key Contribution
Shivam Dube took two important wickets in the match. Pakistan looked ready to post a big total, but they were restricted to 171 runs. Later, India chased the target by scoring 174 runs in 18.5 overs with the loss of four wickets. India won by six wickets. Sehwag noted that this success came because Suryakumar Yadav used Dube well as a bowler. He also mentioned the effective spells of Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy.
Sehwag’s Analysis
Sehwag said earlier captains did not use Dube properly. In his view, Suryakumar considers him a genuine bowler and makes decisions based on pitch conditions. He explained that the pitch lacked pace, which made batting difficult against cutters and slower deliveries. Pakistani batters struggled because they tried to force shots when the ball was not coming onto the bat quickly.
Turning Point of the Match
Sehwag highlighted that Dube’s two wickets created pressure. At the same time, Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy bowled tightly from the other end. In six overs, India conceded only 30 runs and picked up two more wickets. From that stage, the momentum shifted toward India, and Pakistan could not recover.
