Perplexity Launches Comet Browser In India

Availability and Access

Perplexity has rolled out its new browser named Comet in India. The browser is limited to its Pro subscribers only. CEO Aravind Srinivas confirmed the same in an official announcement.

Comet is currently available on Windows and Mac. Android users must pre-register on Google Play Store to get access. The company has not made any particular release date for Android yet. Users can wishlist it in advance, though.

Release Timeline

The initial release of the Comet browser occurred in July 2025. It is built atop Perplexity's AI-driven search engine, which is supposed to help with research and browsing processes.

Features and Benefits

Comet, the company says, is particularly valuable for business users, researchers, and individuals who seek knowledge. The browser comes equipped with AI tools natively, providing users with an enhanced experience.

Some of the main features include an AI-powered sidebar helper. The helper allows people to have various projects and tabs open simultaneously. For instance, it can compare shipping times on various e-commerce sites so that people make quicker choices.
