iQoo Shifts to Origin OS 6
iQoo has officially announced that its smartphones will now be shipping with Origin OS 6, an operating system based on Android 16.
iQoo smartphones use Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15 currently.
iQoo India CEO Nipun Marya, in an X post, reaffirmed that Origin OS 6 will go live in India in the near future.
With this launch, Vivo and iQoo phones in India will share the same interface as Chinese phones.
Account Name Update on X
The official account of Funtouch OS India on X has been renamed to OriginOS (@FuntouchOS_IN).
The company will rollout the update initially to high-end phones and later to mid-range and budget phones.
Vivo's Origin OS 6 Plans
Vivo declared that Origin OS 6 would release officially in China on October 10.
The new flagship devices, Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro, will come out with Android 16-based Origin OS 6.
The overall purpose of the upgrade, the company says, is improved user experience.
The new OS will boast a sleeker interface and better features.
