Trump's Role during Ceasefire
USA President Donald Trump claimed on multiple occasions that he played a role in bringing an end to the India-Pakistan war during Operation Sindoor. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also confirmed this claim.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Trump for his role after encountering him at the 80th United Nations General Assembly session. In his statement, the Prime Minister's Office said:
- Trump showed bold leadership.
- His initiative prevented a South Asian grave threat.
- He is making an effort to put an end to wars throughout the world.
Nobel Peace Prize Nomination
Prime Minister Sharif ratified that Trump had been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Pakistan. He credited his efforts to Trump in bringing peace during the India-Pakistan war.
While speaking at the UN, Sharif made it clear:
- Pakistan received a ceasefire due to Trump's leadership.
- If not for his efforts, war could have escalated.
