Stampede Incident in Karur
Stampede took place at the campaign rally of TVK founder Vijay in Karur district. Following the incident, suspicion about a conspiracy and allegations that power supply was shut off when Vijay arrived were raised.
Electricity Board's Statement
Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) dismissed these claims.
Chief Engineer Rajalakshmi acknowledged that TVK had issued an application to shut off the power temporarily in the rally ground. The application was done for safety measures, anticipating heavy turnout. But the Electricity Board dismissed it.
