Earlier, Prime Minister Modi welcomed President Trump’s announcement that Israel and Hamas had agreed to end the conflict in Gaza. Modi said the development reflected the strong leadership of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He also expressed hope that releasing hostages and improving humanitarian aid in Gaza would create conditions for lasting peace in the region.
According to Israeli officials, all parties have signed the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which includes the release of hostages. The agreement was finalized in Egypt as part of the 20-point peace plan announced by President Trump a month earlier. Reports suggest that Trump is expected to visit Jerusalem on October 12, with possible visits to Egypt and Gaza during the same trip.
