
Trump's Plan to End the Russia-Ukraine War
US President Donald Trump has revealed his plans to assist in putting an end to the current Russia-Ukraine war. In accordance with his plans, he indicated that he is contemplating gifting Ukraine up to 2,000 long-range Tomahawk missiles. Trump stated that he spoke directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the proposal in a recent phone call.
Trump's Conversation with Putin
Trump made a statement during a press conference regarding his conversation with Putin. Asked if Putin had asked him not to provide Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, Trump replied jokingly, "Do you think Putin would like that?" He assured that he had asked Putin how he would react if 2,000 Tomahawk missiles were shipped to Ukraine. According to Trump, Putin was against the move, explaining that the weapons are highly destructive and can inflict tremendous damage.
Kremlin's Reaction to Trump's Comments
The Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed that Putin had spoken with Trump about the issue of Tomahawk missile during their phone call. According to Ushakov, Putin issued a warning that this would hurt relations between Russia and the United States if these weapons were delivered to Ukraine.
Future Meeting Between Trump and Putin
Subsequent to the invitation, Trump had labeled his exchange with Putin as "wonderful" on the Truth Social site. He also stated that he will meet Putin soon in Budapest, Hungary. Trump was hopeful that the meeting could result in efforts towards bringing an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine.
