
Modi Celebrates Diwali with the Nation's Sailors for the Fourth Year Running
Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again followed his practice of celebrating Diwali with the nation's sailors annually. This year, he went a little further to celebrate the festival with naval personnel on board the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, which is moored off the coast of Goa. Modi boarded the carrier on Sunday evening and celebrated Diwali with the sailors on Monday morning.
The Prime Minister thanked the Indian Navy's work and services during his address. The Prime Minister stated that it was a privilege for him to celebrate the festival with the jawans. Modi further mentioned that being sandwiched between the ginormous ocean and Indian soldiers' strength was a sweet experience.
Remarks on India's Naval Strength
Welcoming INS Vikrant's service, Modi described the ship as the emblem of India's defence power and technological advancement. Modi remembered that the aircraft carrier had spearheaded Operation Sindoor, and India had proved victorious in the operation. The operation had shattered Pakistan's confidence and proved India's firepower, Modi continued. He went on to think that even the aspect that merely the pronouncement of the title "INS Vikrant" makes an irreversible impact on the other side.
Emphasis on Self-Reliance in Defence
Modi highlighted the focus on self-reliance in the defence sector, adding that India would have to further beef up its indigenous production capabilities. He praised the armed forces for being ready to defend the country and being willing to lay down their lives for the country's security and prestige.

He welcomes soldiers annually, shares sweets, and pays tribute to their role in national security. All these celebrations are to pay tribute to the hard work and bravery of India's defense forces.
