Trump Issues Strong Warning To Hamas Over Ceasefire Violations

Trump Enraged over Abuses of Peace Accord

There had been a just-signed peace accord between Hamas and Israel after months of conflict. United States President Donald Trump was however enraged by reports of abuses of the accord. Speaking to journalists on board Air Force One, Trump made a veiled threat of taking back Israel for Gaza areas that it abandoned and annihilating Hamas if the situation called for it.

Trump Emphasizes Stability of Ceasefire

Trump had said that the Hamas deal was in the path of peace. Trump warned, though, that aggression would not be tolerated unless it ceased. Trump further said that he was letting this ceasefire go through this time and hoping it would mean less violence. Trump labeled Hamas as a terror organization and said that if it continued on its path, there would be severe consequences.

“If they keep doing this, we’ll fix it. It’s going to be very violent,” he said.

Potential Israeli Military Response

The U.S. President explained that if he asked Israel to act, it could do so within minutes. However, he clarified that he was not pursuing that option at the moment and had chosen to give Hamas another opportunity to uphold the ceasefire.

U.S. Efforts Toward a Broader Peace Plan

America has begun preparing to enter the second round of negotiations on Trump's 20-point peace plan. US Middle East Envoy Steve Whittaker and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to advance the process. Also, U.S. Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance are visiting Israel on Tuesday.

Renewed Violence in Gaza

Despite the peace deal, Israel and Hamas have continued to be active in battles. Each blamed the other for violating the ceasefire. Israeli warplanes attacked Rafah as punishment of Hamas militants for having attacked Israeli soldiers. 19 Palestinians were killed during the attack. Israel stopped humanitarian supplies to Gaza on the wake of this. Prime Minister Netanyahu threatened that Hamas would face harsh punishment for continuing to attack Israeli soldiers.
