India Reach World Cup Final
Team India qualified for the final of the Women's ODI World Cup, beating Australia in a semi-final match. They face South Africa in the final this Sunday. The team has been doing quite well, and this has created a stir amongst people throughout the country.
Gavaskar's Assurance to Fans
Former Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar has made a promise to the fans. He said if India wins this World Cup, he will sing a song with Jemimah Rodrigues, who scored an unbeaten century in the semi-final. Gavaskar added that this will happen only if Jemimah agrees to join him.
Gavaskar on His Musical Experience
Gavaskar remembered the time when he and Jemimah were part of the BCCI Awards function. A band was playing, and Jemimah was strumming a guitar while Gavaskar sang along. He said, “If India wins the ODI World Cup, I will sing a song with Jemimah. She plays the guitar wonderfully. If I keep singing with her, I might become a singer too. But it depends on whether Jemimah wants to play with this old man again.”

During the 2024 BCCI Award that took place, Jemimah Rodrigues even brought out her guitar and performed at the ceremony, entertaining everyone in the hall. Sunil Gavaskar, too, joined her on stage and impressed the audience with his singing. Now the fans are hoping to see them performing together again if India lifts the World Cup trophy.
